There were no notes left by Elizabeth for this unique stocking design with it's arch shaping that 'snugs up' into the bottom of your foot.  Meg recreated the stockings from the original prototype knit in the 60's to develop the written pattern.  The detailed instructions include a pair of aran or two-colored stockings with charts for 7 different designs.
