Knit and felt a whimsical owl for that bird enthusiast. The pattern gives instructions for two owl designs: the Rounded-Head and Tufted-Ear. Adding a mohair yarn in a contrasting color created a fuzzy, variegated owl. What a hoo-ot to knit!

Materials:

1 skein of worsted weight 100% wool yarn for main color. Models shown in:

Rounded Head owl: Nature Spun Worsted in Aran and Frog Tree Brushed Suri in Ivory
Tufted-Ear owl (bottom): Nature Spun Worsted in Aran and Frog Tree Brushed Suri in Sable
Tufted-Ear owl (top): Lamb's Pride Worsted in Charcoal Heather

10 yards of worsted weight 100% wool yarn in medium brown to dark gray for feet.
1 yard of worsted weight 100% wool yarn in medium to dark gray or black for beak.
double point needles, size 10 1/2
100% polyester fiberfill and plastic poly-pellets for stuffing
acrylic felt, DMC embroidery floss and buttons for eyes
